building things - what a sense of accomplishment
So, I just spent basically the entire day making my office my own. I hung up all kinds of stuff on the walls. My cross collection is now hanging next to my desk. A sweet tapestry is hanging on the wall facing my desk. The couch and chairs are chillin' waiting to be used. My office is sweet. I love it more and more every day.
So yeah, the brunt of today was building my desk. Kelly, our on staff Mr. Fixer-Upper, helped me put the main part of it together - but after the first hour, he needed to go. I spent the next 2 1/2 hours puting the rest of it together. It's absolutely beautiful. And it gives me such a sense of accomplishment to be able to sit here at my brand new desk that I just put together and know that it's not going to fall apart on me. I love building things.
So anyway - I've been in Florida for a month already. Isn't that crazy? I still feel like I just got here. Well, I do and I don't. It's odd. Whatever.
Bible study starts tomorrow. I'm so excited to start! These kids are so great. They are so different and yet just like typical teenagers. We had our first real youth group this past sunday. It was great. God totally blessed it. I have been feeling called to talk to these kids about Job for so long, and that's what I did a meditation on at youth group. And they totally responded! It was awesome! God was totally working in them and they were asking questions and wondering about other stuff. It was great. Praise God.
I pray that tomorrow will be even somewhat like this past sunday.
Prayer Requests:
* Bible Study - we're studying the gospel of John
* Wisdom - so that I can better know what God wants for these kids
* Contentness with being single - for now
* PRAISE - youth group!
* PRAISE - the people I work with are amazing!
* PRAISE - I finally got my TV this past weekend! Now I can watch movies on a bigger screen than my laptop!
peace all,
