suffering keeps us realistic - about life

Suffering has been a topic on my mind the last few days. In my missions class on friday, we talked about how missionaries suffer in different ways but also about how it grows and stretches them. And then today, I was reading one of my friend's blogs, and she wrote out this paragraph from a book. There was one line that stuck out to me. It was, "To know God's heart sometimes means also to suffer." Think about that.

"To know God's heart sometimes means also to suffer"

What does that mean in your daily life? What does that mean in your walk with Christ?

What I've gotten from it is more of a reality check. Like the title of this entry. "Suffering keeps us realistic about life." My missions prof said that on friday. I honestly think that's the purpose of suffering. It keeps us real. It keeps us open to God and His will for us. And it keeps us depending upon Him. It almost makes me want to say, "Suffering...bring it on!" Because I want nothing more than to be closer to my Savior and Creator!

This whole "new blog" thing has been really good for me. It's gotten me to think about things and write things down...this is good.

Prayer Requests:
* My roommate Leanne - she came back to school today - she is still in pain
* Wisdom and Guidance - in all things
* My Job Search - I got a call from a church in Alabama today...my heart soars again!
* Praise God for forgiveness and reconciliation!!

Peace all -
